HOW SELF-RELIANT IDENTIFIES THE NGOS TO INVEST IN:
- Recommendations, and other methods to identify
- External in-depth research – specifically: website review of purpose and plans, audited financial statements, annual funding requirements, and any known complaints. Input data into platform
- Reach out to identified NGOs and see interest
- Request local representative to visit and give input
- If NGO interested ask/help them to fill data form on platform
- Analyze and put recommendation to Board for approval
- If approved NGO active, if not reasons for denial.
HOW ARE PROJECTS FINANCED:
- Self-Reliant identifies projects of interest of an NGO which are in one of the five streams (see below). These may be currently ongoing or planned for the next 5 years.
- Assign to initiative stream – identification & improvement, education support, other support ( cognitive, physical, speech, motion, etc.), work life support, advocacy.
- Identify the funding needs and deliverables on a 6 monthly basis.
- Measure performance with agreed deliverables at the end of each disbursement cycle of 6 months.
- Write-up of each completed projects – lessons learned.
DONOR TRANSPARENCY

PROVIDE DONOR TRANSPARENCY
- All Self-Reliant donors gets to see all NGOs and summaries of projects they have invested in and reports of Self-Reliant(audit, plans, etc.). Further for 3 types of Donors – 3 types of access :
- Donor who pledge the complete finance needed for a specific project – access to all details of the NGO and all periodic reviews of all projects for that NGO.
- Donors who support through smaller donations – access to all the projects deliveries under the mutual donor initiative segment.
- Donors who support through larger donations withoutspecific project – access to the projects deliveries under the mutual donor initiative segments in which their donations have been allocated.
- Donor pledge & draw down information

- Summaries on interesting projects on Developmental Delay done by other NGOs world-wide, lessons learned, and related information.
- National database of NGOs working on Developmental Delay.
- Publish work done by leaders by region and by stream.
- Create incentive for free sharing of knowledge across platform members.
- Matchup DD NGOs in Developed Countries who are leaders in each stream with DD NGOs in the country and encourage continuous knowledge transfer through “NGO Sisterhood”.
